“CUBO” is André Fernandes´ new release. His 4th record as a leader, “Cubo” comes as the confirmation of one of the most inventive and and original voices in jazz guitar today.
Fernandes is an extremely active guitarist and composer based in Lisbon, Portugal. His original and fresh sound has been requested by the likes of Lee Konitz, David Binney, Julian Arguelles, Perico Sambeat, Ohad Talmor, Maria João, and many other world class musicians with whom Fernandes has played regularly all over the world.

Currently a member of the Lee Konitz New Nonet, ethnic singer Maria João´s group, Perico Sambeat´s 4tet, and many other bands, Fernandes has united a group of some of the best musicians living in Lisbon, his home after some years in New York City. Mario Laginha is one of the most interesting and recognized voices in european piano, having recorded with Maria João and his own projects for Verve/Universal for many years. Nelson Cascais and Alexandre Frazão are the force behind Fernandes compositions representing a strong and solid rhythm section for the music.
